Writing

The opening sentence should capture the reader’s interest. It should set the mood of the story, Introduce the situation and / or character /s

Ways of doing this: Dialogue, A Statement, Problem, Action, Description of people, Place or time, Question.

Starting sentences:
1.(time) As soon as the clock struck 1 the windows smashed and the house shook violently.
2.(place)It was a dark overcast day in Paris.
3.(dialogue)'Hands in the air where i can see them !" shouted the angry police man.
4.(statement)The spy was a pro but he had no chance against the u.s army.
5.(action)suddenly a poor old man was shocked so bad he fainted as the twin towers smashed together.
6.(question)'whats happening the house is moving fast"!
7.(problem)with 2 minutes to go Australia scored a goal against New Zealand to make the score 3-2
8.(DOP)suddenly I fall back, as soon as I get up, I look up and I see a huge hole in my leg
